A Right to Know: What Human Trafficking Survivors and Their Advocates Need to Know About Monetary Remedies in the Law

FreeIn 2003, Congress amended Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) to add a civil remedy provision. Most states have now followed Congress’ lead by passing human trafficking laws that also included a survivor’s right to sue. For many years these civil remedy provisions in the law have been underutilized in the fight against the crime of human trafficking. This seminar is designed to serve as an introduction to the civil remedy options available to survivors.
