The National Crime Victim Bar Association is hosting a free webinar on civil justice for crime victims in New York from 12-1:30 p.m. Eastern on May 7.
Crime victims face significant obstacles in accessing justice and rebuilding their lives. The civil justice system offers another path forward, but victims and the professionals who serve them often lack the tools and knowledge to pursue it. This webinar will walk attendees through the resources and strategies available through civil action, including how to hold responsible parties accountable, prevent future crimes, and help victims secure the financial resources they need to move forward.
The webinar is tailored to victim advocates, law enforcement officers, social workers and other allied professionals who live and work in New York, with a focus on state-specific statutes and relevant legal information.
Presenters include Guy D'Andrea of Laffey Bucci D'Andrea Reich & Ryan LLP; Lucas B. Franken and Rachel Jacobs of Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala PLLC; and Renée Williams of the National Crime Victim Bar Association.
The National Crime Victim Bar Association is a program of the National Center for Victims of Crime.
